I have a small concrete slab behind my place, roughly 8 by 10 feet, and I want to put a four-piece outdoor wicker conversation set on it: two chairs, a loveseat, and a low table. What I keep going back and forth on is whether the wicker holds up through our freeze-thaw cycle and whether the cushions can survive being stored in an unheated garage over winter. I have no covered porch, just open sky, so everything gets rained and snowed on directly. I also worry a set that size will crowd the slab more than I expect once people are actually sitting in it. For those of you who have lived with outdoor wicker in a harsh climate, did it crack, fade, or mildew? Would you go smaller, or add a cover? Any input from people with snowy patios would help.</p>
